The Garage
|
Work Description: Playing with the line of 'the now' and the theatrical. Being present or locked in the mind. The performance and reality create tension and confusion.
The consistent search for honesty descised in vulnerability. Context: Scale + Applause = Impact Back in May 2025, I performed a solo at Breakin’ Convention, Sadler’s. A stage celebrating hip hop theatre worldwide. Big stage, Big audience, Big moment. It made me ask: how can I stay honest, consistent, and still push for something different? Further the process? I landed on this: Scale + Applause = Impact. Result = The Garage. For many, the true process happens in gyms, living rooms, commutes, rehearsals, conversations. I wanted to reflect that how everyday spaces and routines become performance. No costume. No spectacle. Maybe a little self-indulgent, but honest. Not every day is parade’s, backflips and glasses of wine. The Mundane has value. Value for me anyway. Big thanks to @withsoph (Sophie Bradbury) capturing the journey and moving with the process. A some what one shot of a moment. Reminder to self - Keep training. Do the thing. Regardless. Peace.
